The journey begins from Arusha toward Lake Manyara National Park, a compact but diverse park located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.
The game drive starts in lush groundwater forests where troops of baboons and blue monkeys are commonly seen. As you move deeper, the landscape opens into open plains and the alkaline lake, often filled with flamingos depending on the season. Elephants, hippos, and a wide variety of birds are commonly spotted, and if lucky, you may see the famous tree-climbing lions resting in acacia trees.
By late afternoon, you exit the park and travel to Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, you travel toward the Ndutu region in the southern Serengeti ecosystem, part of Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area interface.
The Ndutu plains are famous for the wildebeest calving season (December–March), attracting large predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Even outside migration season, the area remains rich in wildlife due to permanent water sources and open grasslands.
The afternoon game drive focuses on searching for herds, predator activity, and seasonal movement patterns. Dinner and overnight are at a tented camp in Ndutu, surrounded by wilderness.
This day is fully dedicated to exploring the Ndutu region, one of the most important wildlife areas in the Serengeti ecosystem.
Morning and afternoon game drives take you across open plains where wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move in large numbers. Predators are highly active in this region, and sightings of lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are common.
The landscape is open and dramatic, offering excellent photography opportunities. Picnic lunch is enjoyed in the bush before continuing the safari until sunset. Dinner and overnight remain at Ndutu camp.
After breakfast, you proceed deeper into Serengeti National Park, entering the central Seronera region, known for year-round wildlife concentration.
The afternoon game drive reveals classic Serengeti scenery—golden savannahs, rocky kopjes, and river valleys. Lions are frequently seen here, along with leopards resting in trees and large herds of herbivores moving across the plains.
As the sun sets, you arrive at your Serengeti tented camp for dinner and overnight stay under the African sky.
The fifth day is dedicated entirely to exploring Serengeti National Park.
You begin early with a sunrise game drive when predators are most active. The Serengeti offers endless wildlife encounters, from hunting lions to grazing herds and scanning cheetahs.
You explore different habitats including kopjes, rivers, and open plains. A picnic lunch is taken in the bush, followed by an afternoon safari focused on tracking movement and predator-prey interactions.
Dinner and overnight are at your Serengeti camp.
After a final morning game drive in Serengeti, you travel toward the Ngorongoro Highlands. The landscape gradually shifts from savannah to volcanic terrain and cooler highlands.
You arrive at the rim of Ngorongoro Crater, where you enjoy views of the vast crater floor below. The evening is spent at a lodge in Karatu or near the crater rim, preparing for the next day's descent.
This day is dedicated to one of Africa's most famous wildlife destinations—Ngorongoro Crater.
You descend 600 meters into the crater floor, a natural enclosure hosting dense wildlife populations. Inside, you may see lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, hippos, flamingos at the soda lake, and the rare black rhino.
A picnic lunch is enjoyed near a hippo pool before continuing the game drive across the crater floor. In the afternoon, you ascend back to the rim and return to Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.
The final day begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its giant baobab trees and large elephant herds.
The morning game drive explores the Tarangire River ecosystem, where elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and predators are commonly seen. The park offers a peaceful final safari experience with fewer crowds and rich wildlife viewing.
After the game drive, you begin your return journey to Arusha, marking the end of your 8-day safari adventure with Natured Safaris and Vacation.
